Col. Foster and a major general, U. S. Army Surgeon General James C. Magee, visit a patient, Private William D. Ferguson, Yonkers, New York in a ward. This photograph appeared in the Springfield Leader & Press, Saturday 27 March 1943. On the back, the news editor wrote "Today," indicating that he wanted the photo printed immediately, rather than wait for the "weekend" edition. Undated.
