Yoga, Doughnuts & Dough-nations May 5 at Library Center

April 27, 2015 — Come indulge in a free yoga class, or just doughnuts and coffee, from 6-8 a.m. Tuesday, May 5, at the Library Center while making a “dough-nation” to the Library Foundation during the Give Ozarks fundraising blitz.

The Library Foundation is hosting Yoga, Doughnuts & Dough-nations to raise funds as part of the first-ever Give Ozarks 24-hour online day of giving sponsored by the Community Foundation of the Ozarks.

Nonprofits across the Ozarks like The Library Foundation have a chance to raise money and compete for cash prizes throughout the 24 hours for having the largest number of individual donors and the largest number of donors during a given hour.

At the Library Center on May 5, instructor Leslie Dawson of Yoga Lifestyle will provide a yoga class for all levels -- beginners welcome! -- at 6-6:55 a.m. and 7-7:55 a.m. Not up for yoga? Come anyway for doughnuts provided by Sam’s Club, coffee or tea, and make an online donation on the spot. Any amount of gift is welcome!

The Foundation hopes to match a Community Foundation stretch grant of $5,000 by raising at least $5,000 through online donations from midnight to midnight on May 5 at giveozarks.org for the Annie Busch Fund for Early Literacy.

Making a secure donation is simple. On May 5, donors can log onto giveozarks.org/2015/library-foundation to complete a basic credit-card donation. All donations are tax deductible to the fullest extent allowed by the IRS.

May 5 is Give Local America Day, when community foundations across the country will hold similar online fundraising events to boost resources for their local nonprofits, encourage new donors and raise awareness of philanthropy in general. Online giving days, a growing movement in the philanthropy field, have raised millions of dollars for nonprofit organizations over the past six years.
