Artist Reception, Exhibit, Celebrating African-American Family is Feb. 10

January 30, 2018 — Adults are invited to attend Artist Reception for Joyce McMurtrey at 2 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 10, in the Midtown Carnegie Branch Library upstairs meeting room, 397 E. Central St.

        Photographer Joyce McMurtrey will discuss her newest collection of photographs, King of the Ozarks: Family Stories, on display at the Midtown Carnegie Branch Library in February. Joyce will share her artistic process and stories behind her portraits of a multi-generational, African-American family that has lived, loved, struggled and thrived in southern Missouri, for more than 150 years.
