Honor Someone this Holiday Season with a Library Book
November 23, 2018 — Does your child's teacher need another coffee mug? Probably not! Does Dad need another tie? Not really.
Here’s a simple idea that gives joy many times over: Dedicate a library book for the holidays.
You can honor a favorite teacher, co-worker or family member with a $25 gift to the Library that will be used to purchase a new book for the collection. The Library will then place a personalized bookplate in the book in their honor. The Library will also send an acknowledgement that you have added a new book and bookplate to the Library’s collection for them and many other readers to enjoy.
You can also donate in memory of a loved one, or a special event, and a bookplate will be placed with the person’s name or the event honored or remembered.
Ask a staff member at the checkout desk for a donation form, or for more information. Checks can be made payable to the Library Foundation. Donations with the form may be dropped off at any Springfield-Greene County Library branch or mailed to the Library Foundation, 4653 S. Campbell Ave., Springfield, MO 65810.
For more information call the Library Foundation at 417-616-0586.
