During National Library Week April 4-10, Check Out the Bounty at Your Library

Five drive-through windows. Open six days a week. Mobile hot spots. Homework help sites. Virtual visits with bestselling authors. E-books, e-audiobooks, digital magazines and movies. Maker Space 3D printer and laser engraver. Storytime & More. Planet Book Podcast for ‘tweens and teens.
The list goes on of all the things you can check into and check out through the Springfield-Greene County Libraries. The Library is putting a focus on the many services it offers all ages during National Library Week, April 4-10.
The theme is “Welcome to Your Library,” which promotes the idea that libraries extend far beyond the four walls of a building – and that everyone is welcome to use their services. Whether people visit in person or virtually, libraries offer opportunities for everyone to explore new worlds and become their best selves through access to technology, multimedia content, and educational programs.
We encourage all community members to drop by your neighborhood library, Mobile Library or 24-hour Library Express West kiosk, or visit the website at thelibrary.org and explore and access virtual services and programs. There’s a wide variety of online resources available from the comfort of your home.
Consider library card holders can access:
- 173 mobile hot spots
- Over 380,000 e-books, audiobooks, movies, music and magazines through thelibrary.org/digital
- a Mobile Library that visits 26 neighborhoods weekly
- passport applications and notary service at two libraries
- Investment, business, academic and homework online research sites
- A collection of over 450,000 physical books and other materials, and borrowing agreements with academic and public libraries nationwide.
- Wi-Fi-enabled public computers
In these challenging times, libraries of all types have been going above and beyond to adapt to our changing world by expanding their resources and continuing to meet the needs of their patrons.
