Foundation Fundraiser Invites You to Be a Foodie Tourist at 10 Restaurants
June 30, 2021 — Grab your comfy shoes and strap on that fanny pack because you’re about to be a foodie tourist. “Taste the World without Leaving Greene County” is a fundraiser for The Library Foundation that also supports local businesses.
It features a "dining passport" to 10 restaurants that will lead you to new cuisine and culture right here in Springfield. Each featured restaurant offers a discount or special that you can use to discover dishes or savor old favorites.
The featured restaurants are: Amazin Asian, Cafe Cusco, Catrina's Mexican Kitchen & Cantina, DiGiacinto's, London Calling (Battlefield Mall location), Riad, That Lebanese Place, Van Gogh's Eeterie, Wayo Japan, and Zakya Indian Cuisine.
As you eat your way around town, your passport will also provide tidbits about the food, people and culture that make each restaurant distinctive. If you want to dig deeper into the featured food or culture, you can explore The Library's resources suggested on the passport.
Each passport costs $40 and is good through December 2021.
Passports are available at every branch of the Springfield-Greene County Library District. Cash, check or credit cards accepted.
