Catch These Storytimes at Home or at a Park Near You!

July 27, 2021 — Your librarians are hard at work preparing for Racing to Read storytimes to start again! Storytime schedules will be posted to the Library website when programs are ready. Until then, enjoy these August storytimes at home or in the park!

  • Monday, Aug. 2, 9:30 a.m. Music and Movement Mondays, for infants-age 3. Sing, dance and shake your sillies out virtually with music and rhymes. Register at thelibrary.org/programs; a link to the virtual event will be shared with registered participants. 
  • Tuesday, Aug. 3, 10 a.m. Storytime in the Park, for infants-age 6 in the J.R. Martin Park, 300 E. Hines Street, Republic. Gather ‘round for a storytime in the park! Join your favorite children’s librarians for a weekly, outdoor storytime featuring stories, songs and activities. Meet at The Amp, we'll move to the pavilion in case of rain. Provided in partnership with the Republic Parks and Rec Department. Call 732-7284.
  • Tuesdays, Aug. 3, 10, 17, 24 and 31, at 10 a.m., Storytime & More with the Library, virtual, for infants-age 6. Join some of your favorite children's librarians for a virtual program featuring stories, songs and activities you can try at home. Watch using https://thelibrary.org/kids/videos/ or join us each week on Facebook, @thelibrary.org.
      
  • Tuesdays, Aug. 10, 17, 24, 31, at 10 a.m., Storytime in the Park, for infants-age 6 in the J.R. Martin Park, 300 E. Hines Street, Republic. Gather ‘round for a storytime in the park!   • Saturday, Aug. 14, 10 a.m. Zoom Into Storytime, for preschool-grade 2. Join us for a special virtual storytime via Zoom: Climb Aboard the Bus with Library Station staffer Phyllis. We will read stories and sing songs about all kinds of buses, including the ones that will carry kids to school. This interactive event encourages singing, dancing and some show-and-tell to keep little ones fully engaged. Registration must be made by a parent or guardian by emailing and providing their library card number. A link and a password to access the virtual event will be shared with registered participants. Registrations accepted Aug. 1-14; email imagine@thelibrary.org.
  • Wednesday, Aug. 25, 7 p.m. Stories in the Park, for all ages in Living Memorial Park, 4323 S. Nature Center Way. Enjoy stories, songs, a take-home activity kit and a summer treat! Register at 616-0703.
