Learn Job-Ready Skills You Can Put to Work

September 24, 2021 — The Library and Grow With Google are offering free, flexible online training.

The Edge Community Technology Center, through the Library, has partnered with Grow with Google to offer career certificates in IT Support, Data Analytics, User Experience (UX) Design, or Project Management. No experience is necessary. The Edge is located in the Midtown Carnegie Branch Library.

Individuals who register for the program will be able to learn through the Coursera online learning platform free of charge, at their own pace. The Edge computers will be available for participants to complete their coursework.

Many people can complete the coursework in three to six months. Assistance with resumes, job-searching and interviewing will be available from the Edge, the Missouri Job Center and from Grow with Google.

The Edge, part of the Springfield-Greene County Library, is located inside the Midtown Carnegie Branch Library, 397 E. Central St.

Register for the certificate program by calling 862-0135, ext. 2.

Google Career Certificates provide job seekers with access to in-demand jobs through rapid reskilling without the need for a college degree or prior experience in the fields of IT support, data analytics, project management, and user experience (UX) design. These certificates were developed and are taught by Google employees working in these fields, and are hands-on, practical and rigorous.

Since launching in 2018, the Google IT Support Certificate has become the #1 most popular certificate on Coursera. Tens of thousands of people have graduated from the program and 82% say the program helped them advance their job search or career within three to six months.
