Drop in for Grown-up Holiday Concerts, Open Houses and Crafts
November 23, 2022 — Kids don’t have to have all the fun. Enjoy some holiday events at The Library with adults in mind! Enjoy two special holiday concerts. Try your hand at laser engraving gift tags and ornaments at the Maker Space. And help deck the walls and enjoy a sing-along at the Schweitzer Brentwood Branch.
On Saturday, Dec. 4, it’s Deck the Walls at the Schweitzer Brentwood Branch Library open house. From 2-3, help make decorations to deck the walls and trim the library. From 3-4 p.m., enjoy treats, a wrapping paper swap and holiday sing-along led by musician Brett Johnston
On Saturday, Dec. 10, from 2-4 p.m., learn to decorate your holiday gifts or tree with a custom wood tag or ornament during this Introduction to Laser Engraving in the Maker Space at the Midtown Carnegie Branch. Library staff will teach you how to design and print using the Glowforge Laser Engraver. Materials will be provided.

The famous Courthouse Chorale returns at 12:30 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 13, to the Midtown Carnegie Branch for a one-hour holiday concert.
Enjoy light refreshments on the first floor while this vocal ensemble of Greene County officials and employees performs holiday favorites on the balcony. *Note: The elevator from the basement to the second floor is not operational. The big concert is the Christmas Concert with The Wings of Swing on Sunday, Dec. 18, at 4:30 p.m. in the Library Center auditorium.
Local jazz legends The Wings of Swing will play the jazziest Christmas tunes to get your holiday season swinging!
