It's Time to Take the Winter Reading Challenge for Adults!
December 15, 2022 — The Winter Reading Challenge returns for every adult, especially those who love a challenge from Jan. 2-Feb. 28 all across the Springfield-Greene County Library District. It’s sponsored by the Friends of the Library.
Beginning Tuesday, Jan. 2, pick up a Winter Reading Challenge form at the checkout desk of any library branch or Mobile Library, and get ready to mix it up! You can also log your titles on Beanstack by visiting thelibrary.org/readingchallenge.
Librarians have assembled 15 new reading categories this year. Some will surprise you, some may nudge you out of your reading comfort zone. All of them are bound to introduce you to some new ideas and new authors. Need help finding a book? Just ask us.
Read books that match at least five of the 15 categories, turn in your completed challenge form to our library branch, and receive the 2023 edition mug for being a Winter Reading Master!
Here are the categories: Listen to a book, Set in space, Instructional, Female detective, Religious or spiritual, Kids’ chapter book, Cozy, Author of color, Under 200 pages, Banned book, Nature/Outdoors, Speculative fiction, Page turner, Wartime setting, and Pictorial.
